One more spot opened :(

I just found out, that there is going to be some changes on my apartments internet providing, so I will be cut off from internet for a some time. It might be only couple of days, but it can be several weeks too. All the effort there has been done for this cup, there is no point for me to take a spot from someone who can surely drive all races when I know that I'll miss races for sure :(

I'm really sorry that I'm telling this so late, but I just found out it myself too. Sorry Jeff for holding place for nothing, and sorry to everyone waiting for spot too.

yep, i need to talk with jeff for this...i think he dont know how you drive and me too, i never seen on TS or maybe you play a little to be knowed, for this jeff prefer a knowed driver....in this way we know how he is clean,driving style, fair play ecc....

The first race was a succeed! :D

Everyone played fair and gentlemanly, I hope it continues in next races also. :) And as planned fS leads the team championship. :wink:

Though I hope that in weekday races we can start the qualify or race just at 21:00 CET because otherwise it will go too late for me...

All my info / feedback on the race:

Minimum race result wanted: 2nd

Race started with me on pole, went through the first hairpin a bit slow and got a bump. Dede let me pass but Keppana got through. I was much faster (with less fuel) and got around him after a lap. Then lap 2 it went down the toilet. Dede bumps Keppana (speed boost) and Keppana gets on the inside, bump, i fly off the track. Jan passes me in the next turn, and BluT got into me in the next, i fly into the wall. 1st--->9th in 3 turns (weqweqwe).

Then the race calmed down for me and i went on with the 4 stop strategy. Made 2 dumb mistakes in the race of the race. At the end i was behind the [fs] cars, could have passed them but i bumped Jan a bit, let him repass and fell back. At this point i am feeling sick to my stomach.. crashed in turn 1, BluT passes.

Final race result: 6th :cry:

Very frustrating, even with a worse strategy i had a 100% chance for 2nd... but with the terrible first laps and 3 mistakes, no way. I felt i was the 2nd best overall in terms of speed, so 6th is a sucky result.

Nice race though, no real problems except that it is damn hard to pass, even with less fuel. 4 stop strategy was much faster in simulations but in the race, it's too hard to pass so the extra speed fails anyway.

Looking forward to the next race. :)

Sounds like you had a rough time Mouse... Practice the next track and try to get the best pit stratigies, and good lap times.

i can say only this: PITSTOP STRATEGY FAILLURE

in mind with 4 pitstops to do, finally i make 5 pitstops

1° 83% 8 laps pitting with 8%
2° 80% 8 laps pitting with 7%
3° 42% 4 laps <-------why this???????? OMG pitting with 6%
4° 80% 8 laps pitting with 6%
5° forced 42%!! 2 laps finish the race with 21%!!!!!

total of 48% much more of the race!!!
4 laps!!!!
to refill the tank with 48% it take something like 10 secs, looking the final results i can be 2nd :( toooooooo bad for me.....




PS: blut and keppana are a little line cutter...i lose minimum 5 secs to collide with them but nothing special to say...

Me and BluT did about 120 laps in the past few days, total of 3 race simulations and 2 quali simulations. So it sucks big time to take 6th!! Hopefully next time i will get better luck. :)

Jazzy, tough luck with the fuel strategy.... last year i lost a win because i was 2 laps short of fuel...

I'm more calm now and ready to go to the ring. :)

Qualified for 3rd place on last lap. That was a little suprise for me. There was no bigger crash on at first chicane. I'm sorry for some line cutting, but when I'd really made mistakes then gently gave road. Just cannot understand those wild dudes who try to overtake from outside as cars comes to curve side-by-side, result is that the outsider fly off the road. At all racing was gentle for all, hard battles, good overtakes..

Qualifications:
Quite an unlucky session for me. Many times I got blocked by other players and at last lap I got blocked by my own team mate. My lap was clearly faster than 39.4, so I would've reached the pole position for sure.

Race:
My strategy was already ruined because of that second place obtained in qualifications. I decided to start with more fuel in order to avoid a strategy-change during the race because of the slowdown caused by the group. At first curve I tried to avoid pushing from cars behind me but I accidentally hit the leader (Mouse), so I had to stop and let him pass. Luckily there was a spot between Mouse&Keppana and the group, so I managed to put my car right behind them. Keppana was quite slower than me, so I kept pushing him from behind after every curve (he had more fuel -> slower to accelerate): he managed to overtake Mouse thanks of this. After a couple of curves I got back the first position and I had no problems anymore.
Race was quite simple, though some bad accident happened and after a bounch of laps I had already a big margin. I expected more battle for the first position, Migo was a big surprise for me (I expected Mouse and Jazzyclub doing better!). Crap that olio had to retire from the cup, he would've battled with me I guess ;)
Well, we learned that mistakes & unluck can destroy anybody's race in a couple of laps :)



Couple of considerations:
I think that it's bad assigning championship points just for 8 positions. In this way those last 4 positions don't count anything. Assigning point for every position would be better.
Good race anyway, finally no lag. But hey guys, train more ;)

I propose an idea for the races:

Flying Starts

The car is a bit big and it's too tight in the first lap. I think every driver in this league is very mature and can drive well... but it's so hard to have a clean start to a race. Anyway, i think it may be a good idea to do a single-file rolling start to the races. Simply, there will be 1 pace lap where everyone falls in line, when the leader (pole sitter) touches the start/finish line, he [and everyone else] goes and the race begins.

I think it will make the races much cleaner in the first lap and will lessen the pressure of having so many cars around in the first turns.

I guess we will not do this, but i hope y'all will consider the idea and maybe we can try it for Nurburgring.

This can be tested, but I don't know if we got enough skills to apply it.

Ah, I forgot to say this: I noticed that some player was bouncing in the pitlane in order to stop faster. There are no rules about that, but I think it's not that realistic (we're trying to play a realistic championship, aren't we?). Using that type of strategy when entering pits allows you to stop faster and to enter pits with a higher speed => maybe it's a bit unsafe for other players as well). Oh, anyway, I'm not saying people should get penalized for this (I used this tactic too when I noticed others were doing it as well), but I just would like to see some rule about that.

(Almost) all did that wall stop. It is just more safe because this car has long braking distance and you must have correct speed to make good stopping. Someone gave me a little kiss by this normal style when I was making second stop. I don't see a reason to penalize players who uses wall stop, like it's not very natural.. have you ever seen driver stopping to wall in 200 km/h and continuing race just like nothing has happen :D

Well my keyboard "/" button wasn't working and it didn't recognize numpad's "/" so had to burn fuel in qualyfings, since I couldn't set start fuel and since I couldn't set start fuel for race I naturally went with a 2 pit strategy. Got to get another keyboard for next race. At least I beat Lamppu :P

The next race is a few hours after an exam, so my brain won't be working, so somebody please give me a MSN reminder an hour before the race, since I might forget.

EDIT: you can put me down for your news report (if you make one) for "technical problems", oh and I love the car by the way.

MALTA TEAM REPORT:

RONALD HAD ENGINE FAILURE AND HAD TO ABONDON RACE.

I MADE A MISTAKE. HAD IN MIND TO MAKE JUST 2 STOPS 100% 100%, BUT BY MISTAKE LEFT WITH 50% AND HAD TO DO 3 STOPS. WHICH IS NOT THE IDEAL FOR ME.

after talking with jeff about points, we've decided to come back to old points assignment: 14-12-10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1....no points for fastest lap


A NEW RULE COME AFTER THE STATISTICS OF THE FIRST RACE:

WHO RETIRE NO GET POINTS, we not accept any excuse..or play whole the race or not point for you :evil:

Any ideas of what we can do to make race starts cleaner? Rockingham was not so bad, but the Nurburgring track is probably going to be a mess (people will cut nearly every turn, so close to obstacles).

I have some bad thoughts on what may happen in Nurburgring, the first turns are very tight and the car is very fat! Maybe some ideas:

1 - Flying start (1 pace lap).

2 - Half pace lap (single file until a set track area is reached).

3 - Manual grid setup (cars more spread out).

4 - Controlled start (cars do not start together, but one at a time).

Dunno, some crazy ideas i guess.... but maybe one may work. Feedback, NOW! :P
