How to be dede?:)

Post by Whiplash » Sun Jul 12, 2009 10:42 am

I need to know how can I (on best way) improve my skill. Is it posible to do just playing usual races (servers) on the master server, or I must looking for cups and tournaments on it too. Which servers gives me points on my profile?

No one can be told how to be a dede, you'll have to figure out for yourself.

I don't think there is an easy answer to this, so I'll just tell what I think. It took months of dedication to obtain some results, for me: when I started playing, there were several fast players battling for crazy records, and anyway many players were trying to achieve good laptimes for the ranking. I drove billion of laps with them learning tricks and driving styles, analyzing recordings and trying to drive perfect laps myself. I must say that it wasn't easy to catch their level, but I believe it's not that impossible after all. Maybe you won't manage to become the fastest driver of the game (I've been trying -hard- to beat Tijny for over 4 years, with cheap results), but Top10 is quite reachable to everybody.

The more you play, the more you learn. That's the key.
Nowadays you can play DIT&Ranking tracks (going for fast laps and personal best improvements), as said before.
But anyway, competitions are a good way to compare your skills to other players: InternationalRacingTournament, InternationalHotLapsCcup, Rookies Cup.
Concluding, then:
- If you want to have fun, I suggest to join all organized cups and to play the GPOR-Form1 season that provides good racing battles for several hours/day.
- If you want to improve your default cars skills (& if you have time and dedication), you should join DIT and improve your times in the ranking (also by analyzing top players' videos).

TurboSliders.com Ranking is based on laptimes driven in the selected tracks. Each month a new track will be added (the Dark International Tournament track. You can either drive online (DIT or Ranking+DIT server) or send recordings of laptimes driven offline (there is already an explanation of how to do it at DIT topic).

Anyway, I'm not sure if in the future we'll keep this ranking system or if we'll change it to something more interesting such as F1 racing ranking based on 1vs1 comparisons (and eventually a centralized punaball ranking).
But this will be considered later, when I'll have enough time for the project.
