With Janne I had a very nice battle that should be posted on youtube as a spot for the game!

Like I say, I have not yet found a way of recording TS in a non-sucky manner, all the methods I have tried dont work, comes up really flickery...

There is actually a way to do it without screen recording software - from manual.htm:

-capture <n> Capture the first n seconds as bmp files in capture folder when playing a recorded video. Use this only if you want to make videos. OpenGL is automatically disabled when using capture.

This captures every frame into a bmp file, which in theory can be used to make videos without loss of quality. It does take an awful lot of disk space though, due to the nature of .bmp files.

Hmmm yes, you can imagine the problems of recording a whole race... But I suppose it is a start, and if I did it around 5 seconds at a time, It would take forever but it is possible.

major disappointment for Dungeon Gp! my race was over after qualifying, where i was not able to make one fast clean lap on a very nice track! a totally wrong strategie! a 2 stopper on a new track, not the best idea! then after start in first corners me and my teammate popo had a little contact who cost popo a good result, because i shoot him out behind a tree! no aggresive line or something only that we had no luck yesterday! after my first pit my race was quite boring, only a few good fights with peto i think!
top 10 was my goal and that was possible thats the only good think i take from this race!

Actually, the whole top 5 only made 1 stop.

My race was bad, I had a lot of trouble maintaining my concentration. I keep wondering about silly little things and that's causing me to make a lot of mistakes.

"How far behind dede am I? Ah, 2 seconds ... shit, 3 seconds now."
"Yay, I'm on a fast lap. I wonder if it will be a lap record ... damn, not anymore."
"How much fuel do I need? Hmm, if I did 20 laps with 53% how much do I need for 15 laps? *think* *think* *crash*"

And so on. I guess I just have to focus on my driving, but that's easier said than done.

Ahahah! Calculating while driving is one of the hardest things of the game. When I'm under pressure I can't even do 1+1 correctly. Several times I screwed up my fuel tactic by doing wrong calculations, in Homer Simpson's style:

I refueled between 81% and 83%, making the same mistake as usual: 76% startfuel = 23 laps -> race is 50 laps -> two laps were missing in first stint in order to reach half race -> so let's refuel 76%+7% in order to drive 25 laps. Too bad that I forgot the two laps missing in first stint.

Although, for both test races and this first race, I have being left with 6-7% fuel at the end, which could be a major handicap.

This was partly due to:
1. Not expecting to be lapped
2. Fuel per lap is significantly less on lower fuel loads...

Although, this race it was just because I was napping in the pits and spent too long in there, as I simply calculated that stint 1 took up x amount in y laps, stint two did the same, so all I need to do was take off one (should of being two due to lapping, didnt wanna take the risk) lap of fuel from the x value, and then I should finish perfectly. Hence I would say a two stopper is a "safer" strategy than the one stopper, because those miscalculations dede described are hard to make

Or just pick 50% at start and then fill up 50% again if you are unsure

LOOOL exaclty, iam always thinking during race how much fuel to take.

Hmmm 76/23 = ???... hits a tree*..... hmmm ???* 27 = fuel to take in pits. After a copple laps i always get the right number though




And @ Reirom. What happened to ur mad skills then if you were a top player during version 1.05......... Its really easy to calc fuel on a 1 stopper.... You start the race with 50 fuel.. You drive until you have to pit. Then you divide 50 by the amount of laps you have driven yet. Then you take the product of this number with the amount of laps you still need to drive. Et C'est ca

Nice first race, went almost as I planned. I decided to drive with about 10-20% more fuel than others because I haven't been playing too much lately. It's a lot easier to drive with more fuel early and when is used to track can try some fast important laps with later. Ofc there is some loss in race.

After all race went pretty well. Some predictable mistakes and couldn't drive yet with constantly enough. Hopefully in next race I can compete with same fuel than others.

yeah but in my case a 2 stopper i way slower then a 1 stopper! like in test races where i know the track and i can take advantage of it because im able to run good times with no fuel! but on a new track starting with 25 in my case i can only loose a lot of time because im not able to exploit the empty tank! i knew it befor but i wanted to make a good result, and to have a good starting position, not losing a lot of time fighting with other people! but the quali killed my race already! i wanted to much and i was punished for that! im not a pro and i need some time on a track to fell good! i learned from that next time i will do better! i fell bad for popo but this is racing know one of us pushed hard to get by, it was a little touch in a wrong moment and he flies out of the track! so Dungeon gp was punished twice

Reirom you really should do this:

start qualify with 68 and drive all laps try to get a fast one

then you will start with approx 50 fuel

go to pit when you cant drive 1 more lap anymore and look how many laps you have driven

Use your calc you got on your desk and hit 50 divided by the laps you have driven. You'll often find a number around ~2.7

Calc 2.7 * how many laps left minus the times you think you will get lapped

Leave pit and finish race with like 0-2 left
