Quick 2vs2 PunaBall Tournament #6 - Monday 12 September 2011

PLEASE NOTE: CUP WILL START 30 MINUTES LATER THAN USUAL TIME!

Introduction
Most of these PunaBall tournaments showed serious organizing problems, such as teams not playing their matches, people disappearing and so on. For this reason we decided to play the whole cup in one night!

Schedule
Monday 12 September 2011 @ 21:20 CEST (21:20 Italy/Germany/Netherlands - 22:20 Finland - 20:20 UK...)
If you would like to join but the schedule doesn't suit you, please leave your message in this topic.

Servers
Players must connect to drawings server before the cup. Drawings will start at 21:30 CEST, so please show up at least 10 minutes earlier than that.
These are the servers that might be used:

- Community Server [POL]
- LVP 1
- LVP 2
- LVP 3

Rules
1. Max Teams & Players
We will set a maximum of 16 players allowed to join the cup (8 teams). If less teams will show up, one or more teams will advance automatically to next round. Players will decide their partners directly before the cup.

2. Drawings
Drawings will take place in a separate server, the main server, which will remain available during the whole event. Teams can be decided directly into drawing server (NOT RANDOMLY). Drawings will be random. If 6 or less teams show up, drawings with "<no team> vs <no team>" will be considered invalid, so they will be repeated.

3. Cup Format
Two groups of 4 teams each, all teams play 3 matches (10 minutes time limited). Best two teams of each group advance to semi finals (best of three 5+2 matches, no time limit). Finals will be best of three 10+2 matches, without time limit.

It will be an interesting cup, with the usual favourites for title challenge and some "outsiders". Any of the 2 groups will be filled with very good teams

Quick recap, bit bumpy start for us even though we won 2 first games, but in the 3rd game of the group phase it started to work out better and we were able to beat kapa and Badeend thus earning us 1st spot on group. In semis we won Fama and Stealth straight in two matches. In final it was Tijny and xzeal against us and unfortunately they won us straight in two games.

It was a good cup but I really hoped that we could've taken the victory but it wasn't our day today. Maybe in the final I wasn't that well on it anymore and especially Tijny was too much for me to handle. Bit tired too after many matches and usually I've been sleeping already 3hours at this point. Too bad that I couldn't help dede get back on winning streak but at least I had fun in the cup. And it was nice to see that gold, silver and bronze went all to our team members, with final being only our members on the field

Some stress in the beginning because of troubles with the main server and with killed server 1. I was quite relaxed anyway, so my play wasn't damaged by those happenings.

In first two matches I felt I wasn't warm, but luckily I had a very hot team mate who did everything with ease. Good job in third match, I actually expected to have a harder time against kapa+Badeend. Winning that match gave me enough confidence to play the semi final without pressure: I knew that we would've passed straight to the final anyway.

Final was good but bad like always. All our mistakes were punished with a goal: no enough back-up provided, no enough skills in 1vs1. Xzeal was better than olio in the back-up part, Tijny was better than me in 1vs1. That's where they won.

So, all in all I cannot say that I'm happy about this final. Usually I'm satisfied or I blame the luck. But this time no, it was a big chance for me to finally win a pb cup. I'm a little depressed about winning zero pb cups lately.
The reason why I don't ever win anything was mentioned by olio in the server. It's because it is a "1vs1vs1vs1", and that's nonsense when playing a team game. Teamplay is the key. And it works with nobody, uff.
