The recordings are there to be watched and it can't be a bad thing if someone spots somebody doing something illegal. This shouldn't be a problem for you unless you actually break the rules. Also, by making a false accusation, Matic now learnt how the starting fuel rule works as he had obviously got it wrong before.Tijny wrote:Maybe, but that's not the point: my problem was with the fact that he would specifically re-watch my whole race just to look for things I did wrong, two weeks in a row... unless he does that for all 19 others too, then I didn't say a thing.

i sometimes also check the replay for tight battles, such as szymek vs popowitch vs whip.
for some reason i watched the race of a certain driver, who crashed in pits into a filling driver. luckily the filling driver kinda just reached the amount of fuel he wanted to have, so the effect was low or even a gift (help of acceleration). still imo that sort of accident should be punished as hard as if the effect would be somewhat race-destroying for the filling driver (since he would have needed to illegaly (?) drive backwards to fill the aimed rest amount of fuel in a certain case.
but thats just my opinion. i also am not sure in how far i should keep silent there (not making an "official" complaint) and let the filled driver complain or decide that he forgives the other driver or something similar.

In my opinion pitlane is a little bit tricky. I didn't watch accident, which you wrote, but I remember that for first part of last season pitlane was problem for me. It was really difficult to stop as far as possible and push nobody, especially when pitlane was short and speed on entry was high. What's more, car leaving pitstall is really slow, so it's better to meet nobody on fast line in pitlane...Mike Nike wrote:i sometimes also check the replay for tight battles, such as szymek vs popowitch vs whip.

What could help? Maybe you should set "slowing" in pitlane terrain and to compensate loss, set higher general speed in pitlane. As a result drivers would loss the same time in pitlane, but they wouldn't fight for last pitstall and would drive with less speed.

Hi guys!
Is the sign up still available?
I would be interested in giving it a try even though i dont really like the rule of not knowing the tracks before cause to know the track is vital to have good performances!
Im still a rookie but....im eager to apply all the experience gathered by being 6 x times in a row champion of NSGPOC (NewstarGP official online championship)!
And no, this is not advertising to it dont worry!
Is there at least a pack of tracks that will be played? So i can test them a bit? Cause on practice server i always take about 6/7 laps to get to know the tracks where im playing at but one lap after and its finished!
Anyway, let me know if its possible to join this competition. I might even bring more guys from NSGP if its worth it.
Cheers and thanks for any answers
ps: F1-Premium is the car and i dont need to download anything else to play is that right? I already copied all 4 cars files to car Folder.

Ye thats the car. If you played tracks on those servers they also come in the download folder. You can either move them or just select them if you go to the download folder with the right date. Then you could practice them offline if you want. If you play enough on the servers you will also see that the same tracks come again.
And you can still come and join. Just practice it up and make sure your pace is fast enough to get in the main race. Last time their were hardly 20 players so it was pretty easy to get in.

oh Yeah! If i take part expect some hard concurrence!
One last question. Why cant i download all records from the tracks? When i press import it asks me if i want. I press Y and it starts downloading but soon after it starts next race, breaking the download! I would like to have the records so i can compare results, to see if im fast or slow as a turtle! Any ideas?
Cheers and im looking forward to Sunday race.

About the unreleased tracks:
I'm one of the players who insisted all the time on released tracks, but organizers never took that seriously. We had released tracks in season 2010 and I could freely say that it was the best F1 season ever organized with the biggest number of participants. Sadly, in season 2011 some bastard got idea to change that for some reason. They mostly say that it's because we all can just join and play without to think about the league a lot - we join, play and leave.
Personally, I don't like it at all, but I keep playing it to respect all people who are organizing it, making great tracks etc.
Now the league went out of interest for new players and become only competition for veterans, which sucks.
About competition:
Well, knowing all drivers here I can say that you 'll hardly be able to get close to the best drivers that soon. But, that doesn't mean you can't improve your skill with some practice. I suggest you to use "start server option" with disabled master server in order to practice offline, set about 35-40 laps (command: /lap 35) on some F1 track and type all commands that server will be using in the league:
/fuel 1 1650 20 60 8
/set forcedamage 1
/set maxenergy 50000
/set maxcarhiteffect 0
/set maxwallhiteffect 0
/set fullrepairtime 5
/set maxslowdown 0.130
/set slowdownstartlimit 0.9
/set canchangestartfuel 1
Start fuel is possible to change with: /startfuel x (where x is % of the fuel and must be bigger than 7.
On that way you can test what fuel strategy suits you the most (1, 2 or 3 stops etc.)
To get some F1 tracks, you just need to visit track base and download those who starts with "TSE_". You can put them all to one folder in order to pick them easier in the game. Sure, all those tracks are from earlier seasons and will not be played in this one, but you can use them for practicing.
Files needed:
All players download track from the server automatically before the race, so it's only needed to join and play. Before each race we get 1 warm up session with about 10 laps to test the track. After that, we go to 1 session of qualifications and then race starts.
Cool!
Thanks for all the answers! I will indeed make those practice sessions to improve my pace but i dont want to test the FSE ones cause we are not gona race on them, even if i get it when you say its nice to get to know how car behaves.
I know more or less the process of racing with the warm up and Q´s cause i joined for a couple of races on GP2, the alternative to the F1 superlegue.
One last question i think is, how many laps are normally a full race? Its the ones you mentioned? Like 35/40 laps? So i can know more or less which fuel tactics might be....
Its only sad that servers are almost always empty. At least when i check them!
Most of the guys play the other mods.
But im glad this competition made his way again to the road.

the races are about 25-30mins long!
If you want to join a competition with released tracks join the PTM! Touring cars competition which starts after the F1 League! Tracks+cars will be released soon!

Downloading isn't possible cause server changes the track before you're finished (autotime is not long enough: about 20-40 secs). Downloading isn't suppose to be there anyway, but admins forgot to disable it I guess. Long time ago we had one server which ran just for that purpose with no any races in there, but worked only for default tracks and cars I think.Afinfas wrote:One last question. Whats the number of tracks on the pool that can be selected for the official championship? Cause it looks im always playing in different ones...
Thanks...better go practice now so i can be some sort of surprise on Sunday! Hopefully! lol

welcome afinfas - what was your nick in gp2 (i didnt find an afinfas there)?
also, dede...plz open server and track for download as timed as possible with the time you put the link up to new track.
i was curious about how much time there is between actually prequali and possible local practice time. and it seemed to be something between 9 minutes and 15 minutes or so. i then tested how much time i need to download track to start 1st lap local, after the link is up. with preparation 45 seconds. so..enough time to drive a pre-prequali-warmup (having 2 ts windows open at the same time) to have a deciding advantage over other players. at least i would profit from it...
i cant bring it over my heart though anyway to semicheat like that.
a similar cheat possiblity was there in generally times and it drove me nuts lol..
i assume ips are logged anyway when downloading via link, so maybe just those may download there who have a rly slow connection anyway.
maybe augusto, for example.
or just skip putting up the link
?
what about something like 20:45 server open for live-random track selection of possible tracks^^..some kinda tension for those who made the track. i loved the random seedings back then in the pb cup(s).Etmil wrote:Is it possile to request a Tinky track this week (it's not fair if you use Emtilo ones all the time) and no delays during the various sessions? I dont get you guys who want released tracks...
Its plain boring, it is just about who has the most time to practice that week, I still think the Turboslider community is getting older and older and so people get more things to do besides TS. You can still practice as much as you want and this will still give advantage in the real races.
Ac ompromise could always be made though. Like some races where the track is released. But tbh unreleased tracks are so much more fun you can just jump in at the end of the week and everything is equal for eachother.

Hmmm...Alfonso it was. Actually thats the name i want to play with, i hope its ok. Otherwise i race with Afinfas no problem.Mike Nike wrote:welcome afinfas - what was your nick in gp2 (i didnt find an afinfas there)?

The link with my only race on GP2. Good Q but Lag fuc%&# me up on race crashing all the time cause lag showed up on turns!
About unreleased tracks.... i understand you guys that play this game for a long time and are tired of having same tracks all the time where you all know the braking points and stuff. But for the beginners or more inexperienced ones, its easier if they can stay with one track to practice so they can develop their skills on that particular one. As i said before, we also have this kind of debates on NSGP cause older guys (like me
Anyway, back to the topic. Knowing the tracks already makes it more fair in some way in my oppinion cause you only depend on yourself, yeah on the amount of practice you made but....not knowing the tracks will definitly benefit the guys who are here for a long time like Dede and mikenike (i know these names even though i never raced with them cause i see them all over the place related with Turbo Sliders
Anyway, just a rookie oppinion but, im saying with the experience i bring from NSGP. Somethings is better not to change for the sake of competitiveness.
If you want more ideas for it check it out NSGP.TK, theres a link for the forum there.
Im very interested in seeing the results of this Sunday and hopefully there will be a place for me to race.
Last thing. What can i say to the guys on NSGP to bring them to turbo sliders?
Like champions league! LOL
Ok, sorry for big post, just wanted to make clear some opinions.
See you soon...

where do i sign

Yeah, it can be organized. Actually I got very limited time to organize/play since when I started working full time, but after the F1 league it can be done.afinfas wrote:maybe a championship with the best from both games!!? That sounds cool. Are you at all interested??
What you wrote about these games and communitites is true, I agree 100% !
As always, I still disagree with Pingu.
You should know that people can practice with unreleased tracks too and improve a lot, even more than on released ones. Just remember last season. Pablinho were closer than ever to the top drivers, and you remember what he said on the end of season...:"Yeah, I practiced a lot". So, your logic is just broken there.
The result of this altitude can be fallowed trough all past years - TS is constantly dying because of that.
I have no time for these shits too, but I 'll still rather see competitions which will serve all new players, not just bastards like you are.
If you can't play, that doesn't mean that TS can't improve in any way and should be buried. What should we expect next from you to say: "Guys, I have no any time for this game anymore. So pls, stop organize everything, cause I can't join".
All that Alfonso says I agree with too.
Also, many of newcomers can't even speak English and are not able to come and fallow whole forum in order to participate some cup or league. That's why they probably give up earlier. More automated and predictive competitions should be included. And using homepage instead of forum would be good way too. Understanding the ranking and rules from it is much easier and intuitive than reading the forum posts.
About the GPnewstar:
Man, I installed it yesterday and I really couldn't enjoy it enough to keep the game on my PC.
Cars just have so weird handling, especially in curves and during the collisions. I had a feeling that car is not totally under my control cause it often steers much more that I want to. I felt like it gives me some kind of weird help in certain circumstances.
