GPOR Racing Pack - DOWNLOAD COMING SOON!

Post by Mouse » Mon Feb 06, 2006 6:02 pm

Hello all! I have been working on a GPOR Track Pack for the past 2 weeks now, i have 6 tracks finished, and plan on making about 20 more in the next 2 months. Other GPOR members are making track designs now, which i will use to create most of the tracks for the pack. Also, i will be making a special car, that fits the track style (Formula-1 works great). The pack will be released the same week as 1.0.7, so each track will have a pit area! I will be uploading a "teaser" pack in the next few weeks, containing 3 tracks. Also, pictures will be posted here of tracks as i finish them.

Track discriptions -
- Track done in Photoshop
- use of Hengari's tile set, and a tile set by me
- track designs by GPOR members (and other drivers)

If you like, you may make a track design and e-mail it to me!
AndyV38XT@aol.com

I will keep you all up to date on how the tracks are progressing!

I am also going to include a few Motocross Tracks for the pack pack, each based off of real world tracks. I finished Unadilla Motocross today, it is a full photoshoped track, the first time a rally track is done with photoshop, and it looks great!

Next week i will upload a teaser pack containing 3 tracks.

Tomarrow i will finish the first track for the pack, Torrington. I will post a picture here along with other information. I guess the track pack will not be finished for a while, as it takes 4-5 hours of work. Mid-March is what i am aiming for. It will include about 20 tracks total, most race tracks, but will also include motocross tracks and puna arenas. New cars also will be included, like the EA-StockCar, 125ccDirtBike, 250ccDirtBike, and will also have the EA-Formula-1. About the teaser pack, i wil not release one over the internet, instead i will host servers containing the tracks, me and other GPORs will be having pit-stop races on them.

Another note, many have seen some of my other tracks, they are good, but nothing to campare with my new tracks. Jazzyclub has helped me a lot and including my track making experience, i think most of you will enjoy the tracks.

Well default cars are not good for this track pack. I am working on cars to fit the tracks though. Also, Jazzyclub's Toca cars work very very well on these tracks. I do plan on making a few small tracks though, that default cars can use.

Track Name - GPOR_Torrington
Track Design By - Mouse
Track Made By - Mouse
Track Size - 1700 x 1500

This picture is poor, cant see much of the details. In the next few days, this track will be used in some races online. Server name wll be something like "Mouse's Track Pack Testing" It took about 1.5 hours of photoshop work and 3 hours of work in the TS editor to finish.

Also, i have made a special terrain file for the track pack. Grass has a bit of slide, sand slows your car down more and the pit boxes slow you down (to reduce pit crashes).

Re-Made Garabaldi to come in a few days.

If it is a new track, this topic should be under 'new tracks' topic.
Or how about, if i put new-topic-for-every-single-new-track-i-have-been-making +previews of all them (available soon, pretty soon, not quite yet, available tomorrrow, ready).

Oh, and of course, testing topics for all of them.

Hey all. This pack is coming along nice. I am working on it, i dont know when it will be finished, because i seem to add more tracks to my tracks list each day. So far the list has 25 tracks on it. To let you know, it is not all race tracks, there is a track for many types of games in TS, including battle mode :)

I will keep you informed on the pack as it grows :)

September 4th 2006 Update

I have a few tracks under construction at the moment. 1 GP track (like Torrington), some Bumpz tracks and a few wrecker tracks (like figure 8 - tracks with crossings, for DD cups).

Here is a picture of the newest GP track, about 65% finished:

GPOR_Whetstone
Image
As you can see, the track work is done, and now it is time for the details.

and here, another track to be started when Whetstone is finished:

GPOR_Cabeza
Image
Actually, this is the first track i have ever made in photoshop. Though, when i did, the size of the track was only 30pixels wide (stupid error). After i have seen it again, i decided to enlarge it to 60pixels wide.

Things on my to-do list:
- Whetstone
- Figure 8 and other wrecker tracks
- Bumpz tracks
- Cabeza
- Other GP tracks
- Cars (Rally, Bike(maybe), F1, Stockcar, Touring and more).

I will be puting the pack up for download in a few weeks.

GPOR Racing Pack v0.70 coming soon!

Mouse: Never heard about resizing images :D

Tracks look nice and the track profile seems to be ok. Smooth curves and no those pointy-edges and so on.

Actually, i have 2 projects going at the moment. I can post a download of what i have done so far i suppose. My main priority is the other project though, which is a GPOR team project and is private.

Thanks for the comment also, razor. :)

Probably not because they are old, a bit out of date....

I know so many more techniques and ways to make tracks now, last year Torrington was the king of my tracks, but now i don't like it so much anymore, and i can make much better tracks.
